Nearly a century ago, a family man came to America - working from sunrise until deep into the night to afford his family a better life. His son, Alfred (Fred) Matarazzo grew up watching the close friendship that developed between his father and his trusted accountant.

Fred Matarazzo, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, became a Certified Public Accountant in 1960. As his practice grew, more and more clients began asking for financial advice. Fred decided to expand the firm to give them this guidance - the same way trusted financial professionals had helped his father a generation earlier.

In 1990, Alfred (Al) Matarazzo, Jr. joined his father, creating a financial services firm focused on exemplary client communication. Al was instrumental in developing corporate benefits plans for small businesses interested in retirement planning. From a simple accounting practice, the Matarazzos have created a singular resource for financial services, based on old-world values. Almost sixty years after Fred opened up shop, Zach Matarazzo, Al’s son and Fred’s grandson, joined the business in 2017. Two years later Maddie, Fred's youngest grandchild, also joined the firm. Though Fred Matarazzo passed away in 2012, there is no question that "Granddad" would be ecstatic to see his business enter the third generation.

The MLRA Team
Al Matarazzo, Jr. CMFC®

As the president of Main Line Retirement Advisors (MLRA), Al Matarazzo Jr. began his career in financial services at the tender age of 10. Under the watchful eye and tutelage of his father Fred, Al began his life-long career in the finance world. With experience under his belt, Al furthered his education by attending Albright College, graduating with degrees in finance and economics. Together, Al and Fred turned worked to create a lifestyle firm, aiming to help clients achieve their goals in an approachable, stress-free way.

Al's free time is spent with his wife Mindy, his growing family of children and (soon) grandchildren, and his lovable mutt, Chaco. Al is an avid fisherman, and on many weekends, you’ll find him along a mountain creek or in the back bays of New Jersey casting a line.

Zach Matarazzo,  CFP® AIF®

Zach joined the firm in 2017 after graduating from Bucknell University with a degree in financial analytics. Zach enjoys furthering his education; he has recently become both an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designee. Zach daily roles include the preparation of investment analytics and reporting for our 401(k) clients, as well as cash flow planning and financial modeling for our household clients.

Zach is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, biking, and skiing most. His favorite times are spent on distant road trips with his wife, McCall, and his dog, Hattie – the dustier and bumpier the road, the better.

Maddie Montanye

Maddie joined the firm after graduating from James Madison University with a degree in technical communication. She is always looking for new ways to use her expertise in writing and communication to ensure our clients are continuously engaged and satisfied with the work we are doing. Maddie grew up learning about finance from her grandfather, dad and even brother, but she is excited to continue learning about wealth management as she works with us.

Maddie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and skiing with her husband, Harris, and dog, Piper. She also enjoys cooking Italian meals and baking bread in her free time.
